Travel Planning Information

The Wilshire Grand Hotel is located at 930 Wilshire Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles. In recent years, the downtown area has undergone significant development and now offers a wide range of top quality restaurants and entertainment options. Travel to Los Angeles, California

APPAM does not contract with airlines to provide special fares for conference attendees. Recent experience has shown that conference attendees will get better rates on air travel by using various websites for booking tickets. Five airports service the greater Los Angeles area: Los Angeles International (17 miles to the conference hotel, Directions, Website), Bob Hope Airport in Burbank (16 miles, Directions, Website), Long Beach Airport (25 miles, Directions, Website), John Wayne Airport in Orange County (40 miles, Directions, Website), and Ontario Airport (40 miles, Directions, Website). Please note that there has been a decrease in the total number of airline seats flying into Los Angeles due to the recent increase in fuel prices. Purchase your airline tickets as soon as possible.

The Los Angeles Subway

Los Angeles International Airport has a shuttle connector to the Green Line at Aviation/LAX station. Take the Green Line to transfer to the Blue Line. Exit the Blue Line at 7th Street/Metro Center. The Wilshire Grand Hotel is located just two blocks from the station by walking on S. Flower Street to Wilshire Boulevard and then continuing to the left on Wilshire to S. Figueroa. Taxis and Shuttles

By taxi, Los Angeles International can take up to 40 minutes depending on traffic (approximate fair: $40.00). Taxi fare and transit times to other airports may be substantially higher. Shared-ride shuttles are available to and from all the airports at current one-way rates that vary from $16.00 to $72.00 depending on the distance to the airport. Shuttle services may be arranged at the airport for transfer to the hotel. The hotel concierge can assist with booking shuttles back to the airport. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau recently announced it had arranged a special shuttle service to the downtown Los Angeles area from Los Angeles International.
