APPAM is announcing the ballot approximately one month prior to the Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for November 7 in Los Angeles, CA. According to the APPAM bylaws, members have the right to nominate additional persons to the ballot if 25 members support that action. Such nominations may be delivered to the APPAM office or presented on the floor of the membership meeting. If the officer nominations are approved by the membership meeting without change, then the three officers will be elected on November 7. All competitive elections will be conducted on-line using a special election system.

Brief descriptions of the open positions, and their method of selection, may be found on the APPAM web site by clicking here. The APPAM bylaws offer additional details about procedures by clicking here. Any questions about these positions and their duties may be directed to Erik Devereux at the APPAM office in Washington, DC. Please note that APPAM does not compensate officers or Policy Council members, or reimburse for travel expenses to attend leadership meetings.

Special Vote on Changes to APPAM Membership Dues:

The APPAM Policy Council has approved recommending several changes to membership dues to take effect in 2009. APPAM individual members at the Annual Membership Meeting on November 7 in Los Angeles will act on these proposals. To read a letter from President Doug Besharov and Executive Director Erik Devereux about these changes, please click here (50KB). The members gathered at the Annual Membership Meeting are authorized in the APPAM bylaws to approve changes to membership dues.
